As part of the energy-efficient refurbishment of the Celle Badeland, the existing central heating system was expanded to include two combined heat and power units, which in turn are supported by two gas boilers when required. A buffer storage system was also installed to optimize the running times of the CHP units. By using a condensing heat exchanger, the waste heat in the exhaust gas from the CHP units can also be used, further maximizing the efficiency of the system.
